EPA has confirmed the meeting to discuss TCE Vapor Intrusion. It will be held:
- Date: Tuesday, November 12, 2013
- Time: 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
- Location: Adobe Building at 157 Moffett Blvd.
About this meeting:
EPA has been investigating the potential sources and the extent of the trichloroethene (TCE) groundwater “hot spot” areas previously found on Evandale Avenue and Leong Drive. These “hot spot” areas are where high concentrations of TCE exceeded 1,000 parts per billion in the shallow groundwater. TCE has the potential to migrate from shallow groundwater and upwards through subsurface soil into indoor air of overlying buildings by a process called vapor intrusion.
EPA will update the community on the additional groundwater and air sampling conducted in 2013 in the immediate area and a proposed pilot test of a technology planned to clean up the TCE “hot spot” Evandale Avenue. Don’t miss this opportunity to ask questions and get informed!
